June 2023 | Kinship of Cumberland and Turtle Lake is moving forward with an ALL NEW Quarterly Newsletter! This format will replace the once a year newsletter and help us communicate Kinship news in a more timely way! We look forward to keeping in touch!

Skate City The weather has kept us cooped up for so long that the Kinskids were ready to get their roller skates on and have some fun during the February activity at Skate City in Rice Lake.  Some of the skating skills these kids have are incredible! There were games, snacks and fun songs for the kids to skate and dance along to!
String Art The children asked for crafts and the March activity of String Art put their finger dexterity and  perseverance to the test. Both Kinskids and Mentors enjoyed this craft. There were lots of giggles and focus going on! The projects all turned out really cool. Some were more difficult than others, but each one was just as unique as each child that made it. Your support allows us to do these things.

Connell, Jim headshot Welcome new Executive Director, Jim Connell! Greetings Kinship Supporters & Friends, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Jim Connell and I am the new Executive Director of Kinship of Cumberland and Turtle Lake. I am honored to be a part of such a meaningful and important program.

I am a semi-retired teacher and school administrator.  I was a principal at Turtle Lake for 15 years and superintendent at Shell Lake for five years before retiring and moving to Cumberland. I look forward to getting to know you in the future. If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement please reach out. One of the main goals is to grow the program and have a positive impact on more kids. If you are currently a mentor, thank you!  If you have donated to Kinship in the past, also a huge thank you for your generosity.  If you are interested in the program and learning more, please reach out to me. You can contact Kinship at KinshipCTL@gmail.com or by phone at 715-419-9747. Sincerely, Jim Connell
